Ladies, when last did you receive a gift from your husband? A little deeper, was the gift beautifully wrapped or was it just in a plain paper bag or even worse did you have to go buy the gift yourself?

When you receive a gift, often the care that is placed in the presentation of the gift means just as much as the gift itself. This is a fact that women treasure but men often do not realise. Those small extra's such as a nice pink bow, a good choice of wrapping paper etc, can double the value of the gift to your partner.

Ladies, in the bedroom, you are presenting your body to your husband as a gift! When last did you giftwrap yourself for your husband!

What you wear in the bedroom is part of the giftwrapping and creates the excitement. What is more likely to get your husband aroused, your old ragged nightie or a beautiful babydoll as shown to the left.

Remember that your body is the gift and beautiful lingerie will make the gift to him so much more exciting and appreciated. It signals that you have taken extra care in the gift and makes it so much more appreciated by him.

It is time for you to once again take hold of the excitement in your marriage and to create your own excitement.

However, don't wait to arrive in the bedroom to start your plans for the evening. Remember when you were dating how you would plan out the whole evening in advance - how you would plan that magical moment when he or she would eventualy take you in thei arms.

Marriage is no different. Text your husband during the day and remind him not to be late home that night as you have something special planned. Cook a great meal that he enjoys and lay the evening out.

Husbands - send your wife a text message telling her not to cook. Come home and take her out to a restuarant. Don't forget some nice flowers or some chocolate as well.

Whatever you do create excitement in your marriage - No-one else can do it for you except yourself!

Not Enough Sex

In my previous posts I highlighted the importance of maintaining a regular and healthy sex life between you and your spouse in order to prevent satan from getting a gap and causing havoc in your marriage.

Yesterday I came across some shocking statistics that only serve to further prove the fact that satan is active and intent on destroying marriages through destroying the sexual relations between husband and wife.

1) Relate, a top couples counselling orginisation, released figures that showed that the amount of men who do not want sex with their wives has increased by 40% over the last 10 years.

2) A quarter of women over the age of 35 do not have sex.

The hugely interesting fact that emerged from the discussions about these figures above is the reasons that male and females list as to why they are no longer having sex. Some of the more common problems are:-

a) Weight Gain. They simply do not find their partner visually attractive enough to want to have sex with them. Come on Guys and Girls, your body is the temple of God and you need to maintain it so that it remains attractive to your spouse. The best advice that I can ever give to someone who's partner is falling out of love with them is simply "Why did you change?" Your partner found you highly attractive at one stage and fell in love with you. What did you change to make them fall out of love with you?

How do you view sex in your marriage?

Is sex a crucial part of your marriage that bonds you together?

Or is sex just something that you used to have in order to have children together?

Sex is one of the most important parts of any marriage, no matter how old or how young you are. Sex is meant to be enjoyable for both partners and should never be just an obligation. If it has become an obligation that you perform merely to keep your partner satisfied, then you have a problem. If sex has become anything less than at least a once a week affair (which is still way too little) then the chances are that your marriage is at risk.

Satan comes to rob and to steal - it is his whole function in life. He wants to steal your joy, happiness and mostly your unity in marriage. Satan hates unity for in unity there is untold strength. "When two or more are gathered in My name, whatsoever they ask shall be done for them."

One of Satans major weapons is that of lust. Nothing is able to break a relationship more than an extramarital affair. Now please don't give me that nonsense that your partner would never stray or wonder. Have you forgotten that Satan is so powerful and deceiving that when he was cast out of the heavens he managed to convince one third of the angels to go with him. Those Angels knew the full glory and power of God for they were in God's prescence daily, and yet satan still managed to decieve them into being cast into outer darkness and eternity in hell. How much easier is it for satan to deceive you or your spouse. How many great men and women of God have fallen to Satans deception already?

When you and your spouse are not actively engaged in healthy and active sex, Satan is standing ready trying to deceive you into temptation.

Why are you not active in your sex life?

Some of the most common reasons for not being sexually active anymore are :-
1) Sex is boring.
2) Too Busy.
3) Age and impotence.
4) Lack Libido.
5) Sex is Dirty and it is a sin to be Lustful to each other.

None of the above is an excuse to abstain from sex, but rather each one of these excuses is an opportunity for the devil to destroy your marriage.

If sex is boring for you or your partner, it is because you have never taken the time to experiment and find out what really turns your partner on. Sex is fun. Communicate with your partner about what is best for them and work to ensure that sex becomes fulfilling and exciting part of your marriage. Sex is only boring if there is no adventure and fulfillment.

Too Busy for sex. You are in the exact place that satan wants you to be. When you are too busy for sex, it is so easy for him to come in and destroy. God wants you to have time to yourself and for your partner as well. When you are spending all your time seeing to the needs of others (Great Thing)but no time to see to your own needs, something is going to break and that could well be your marriage. If you are not seeing to your spouses needs, then who is?

Age and impotence. Age has absolutely no right to interfere with your sex life or to determine how sexually active you remain. Remember Sarah and Abraham. Well God could not have granted them a child at such a late age if they were not having sex. If impotence is a problem, most cases of impotence are easily resolved. Is sex in a christian marriage supposed to be boring? No I do not think so.

God gave us sex as a means of multiplying, but He also gave us a sex as a recreation, one of the only species to whom this privilige was given. If we have been given sex as recreation, then it means that it should be fun, but again I stress that it should be only between husband and wife.

One of the frequently asked questions in christian sex, is what is permissable. To me, I personally feel that sex between husband and wife is a no holds barred issue, and as long as both husband and wife feel absolutely comfortable with what is happenning, then it is good.

Sex before marriage is a principle that is repeatedly challenged in the christian communities due to the constant decay of worldy morals that promote open sex and sexual freedom.
The biblical viewpoint towards sex before marriage has not changed and will never change unless there is a total rewrite of the bible, which will not happen. However young people are constantly challenging these biblical principles and the mere answer of "Because the bible says so", does not satisfy their need for a more direct reasoning behind these principles.

I have been challenged to create a new blog forum to help christian couples into a more fulfilling sex life according to biblical standards and christian beliefs.

Sex is a gift from God to us, and is to be enjoyed by couples and should not be considered to be something that is dirty. God gave us sex for two reasons:-
1) To multiply and create new life.
2) As a form of recreation and for enjoyment and fulfillment.

The fact that sex has been dirtied by the world and has been made into something pornographic, has not changed the fact that it is God who created and gave us the ability to have sex for our enjoyment. If God created it for our enjoyment, then we are to fully utilise the gift from God and ensure that we are fully enjoying the benefit of a good and healthy sex life - to His standards and not to the worldly standards.

What sets Christian sex apart from the worldy sex. Christian sex is an expression of love within a married couple. Wordly sex is an expression of lust between two people. The difference between these two is:-
1) Christian sex is limited to sex between husband and wife.
2) Worldly sex often occurs outside of the marriage.
3) Christian sex is a act of love.
4) Worldly sex is often an act of lust.

Love is when you will do anything at your own cost to satisfy the needs of your partner.
Lust is when you will do anything at the expense of your partner to satisy your own needs.
The words love and lust are very similar, but have a slight twist to them. Christian sex should consist purely of love, and the minute that any form of lust enters, it should be dealt with immediately and be removed from the relationship and replaced again with love.

It is usually immediately apparent when lust is prescence in any relationship, simply by talking to the two partners seperately. A partner that talks in terms of "I" and "Me" instead of using "WE" is often a partner that is thinking solely about themselves and is more often than not a victim of lust, whereas a partner that constantly uses the term "we" has their partners best interst at heart.

One of the first steps to improving sex in a christion relationship is the removal of lust. When each partner is committed to an act of love and is trying and doing their utmost to satisfy the needs of their partner, you have an equation that automatically results in meeting each other half way and there is perfect harmony. As soon as one partner is more interested in satisfying their own needs, you have an unbalanced situation that will always result in dissatisfaction.

The first major step in improving your relationship with your wife is to become concious of the use of the words "I" and "Me". Try to go for a day or two without using these words and see what a vast difference it will make to your relationship.
